Stripped Screw Hack

We Have a loose Screw!

There is a possibility that I am the only person in the world that hasn’t seen this hack before. I was fascinated when I saw Tony do this, so I just had to share it with you.  I’ll be happy if there is even one person out there that will find this useful.

One of the screws/rivets of the mosquito screen kept coming off the door frame.  At closer inspection it looked like the screw was stripped when it was installed and was never really screwed in.  As we didn’t have this type of screw handy, we opted for a quick “fix” for now (aka forever).

Stripped Screw

You can use electrical tape, duct tape, or dip it in paint (if it’s a machine screw), but the only thing that we had handy was Saran Wrap.

Tear a small portion of saran wrap and wrap it around the screw

Screw it back in place.

And that is all there is to it!

This method only works on physical loose screws.
