We usually post pictures of past trips in an attempt to experience, yet again, a fading memory. Unlike those past trips, this picture of footprints and lines in the sand that will soon be erased, was taken earlier today. It serves as a reminder to ensure that we embrace the here and now that will be gone tomorrow. There is a bit of a side note to this photo; sometimes a small detail in the background can overpower your main focus.

Earlier today… but it is still early. I am still in bed. Beautiful pic. I admire your energy level.
Now it is yesterday…I thought about it when I wrote this last night, but decided to leave it as today for better residual emphasis. Watching the news , I forgot that there are smart people left in the world 🙂
There is a lot of wisdom in your words. It looks like a huge boulder with the tide washing over it in the background. It does take your eye from the footprints in the sand. I just want to sit on the sand and watch the tide come in while putting life in perspective. Thank you.
Thank you, Linda! I love how you said putting life in perspective!
I love taking photos on the sand and rocky beaches I visit. Such a snapshot in time. Thanks for sharing. Allan
Thanks for stopping by, Allan!
Very symbolic, and I appreciate the sentiments. We live right near the ocean, so there are plenty of footsteps coming and going.
The magic of water!
Hi Tony and Margie, I love going over past photos and reliving our adventures. You make a great point on the footprints and they also disappear. A good reminder on the here and now.
Thanks, Erica/Erika! We need constant reminder to enjoy the here and now…
A great reminder to take that special photo you notice when you notice it. ‘Cos tomorrow it might be too late.
Yes. And not only photos!
Lovely! Where was this taken? It’s true that stretches of sand are hypnotic, that even the slightest touch– a footprint, an inanimate object– adds depth to their smooth surface. Thanks for sharing this photo!
Thanks, Rebecca! This photo was taken on the main beach at Port Elgin, Ontario, on the shores of Lake Huron. This year the great lakes are doing a great job satisfying my craving for the sea.
