We were nominated by our friend John from Paol Soren to post one favorite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. We accepted because we like him, but we can’t stick to the rules.
First, we would like to explain that we understand that the idea behind this challenge is to expose bloggers to new audience (and audience to new bloggers). We were thrilled to hear that Pete is now reading Jenn’s blog. This is really what it’s about! We may post a couple more using this format, but then we will acknowledge fellow bloggers in our “One Photo At A Time series”. We think that everyone will be happy with this solution! This bailout is NOT because we are running out of rules to break! Nor are we running out of photos, however, it is getting in the way of our regular travel posts that we are already behind with.
In the meantime, we chose a few more bloggers to nominate:
The lighthouses below remind us of Beth from ETB Travel Photography. go check out her hikes in the Rockies.
Beth reminded us of Beth from I didn’t Have My Glasses on We love her blog and her subtle observations. You may too!
I may have another Beth tomorrow!
The sunset reminded us of Rebecca from Rebecca Goes Rendezvous. Rebecca was already nominated so she can just bask in the glory but you should still check her travel blog out.
Bethes (can you even say Bethes?), please don’t feel obligated, but If you choose to participate please link to us so that your readers can come and visit here. If you want to post just 1 or 5 or none, that’s okay too; we just wanted to send people over to your site!
We promised lots of rule breaking, so here we go:
- 1: We will reveal the location of the previous post the day after we post it. So here we go: yesterday’s photo is the amazing Dignity Statue overlooking Chamberlain, South Dakota. We hope you enjoyed it as we swallow our dignity because we didn’t get a swarm of new followers…
- 2: we posted 2 photos; back and front of the same sculpture
- 3: Jim was nominated by both Pete and us
- 4: instead of one, we nominated two people
- 5: we are not supposed to write anything other than the blurb that came with the nomination
- 6: daily title changes
- 7: we post two photos on the same subject from 2 different locations
- 8: we will not post every day
- 9: we decided to acknowledge bloggers in future posts instead of continuing with the challenge all the way to the end
- 10: nominate a blogger that was already nominated
- 11: sometimes I use a blue toothbrush while Tony uses a pink one!
- And a partridge in a pear tree.
I hear ya!
🙂
It’s always good to make up your own rules in life. This lighthouse looks so familiar. At first I thought it was East Lighthouse in Killarney, but the path that leads to it is in much rougher shape. Hmmm.
These are actually two different lighthouses in two different provinces in Canada, but not the Killarney one!
Nice shots. Lighthouses are always interesting.
I like lighthouses. Even when they are similar in design there is something special or different about each and every one of them!
Thanks for the mention. Most appreciated!
Glad you are not annoyed by it!
Haha. I could always use more followers. I’m not sure if I’ll get 10 pics posted. Maybe one after the holidays or completely sporadically as I fit it in with other posts. And I’ll be far from following the rules as I’ll likely include an explanation!
Whatever works for you is fine by me 🙂
Don’t forget rule 71894–3062 Said participant may leave on a trip at any point and be permanently excused from participating. P.S. I may need to borrow Tony’s pink toothbrush.
Will I have to wait that long? It’s like a million rules away! I think that the next one will be my last one as we are really busy now. Bad timing for us. I will let you know when Tony is done with his toothbrush and I will ship it to you. I am glad that someone made it to the end of my rule breaking list!
great photos of the lighthouse from Beth. And I also enjoy reading the “other” Beth’s blog. I also started following Jenn, so thanks for the lead.
I am so glad!
I love lighthouses. I’ll post a couple just as an extra.
Great, I just went over to see and they are beautiful!
Nova Scotia?
The answer is in Challenge #5. You need to go a few provinces over!
Love a lighthouse! Hubs and I were married in one.
Glad you’re breaking the rules. I prefer to know what I’m looking at. 🙂
WHat a wonderful place to get married! Thanks, and welcome aboard!
