Blossoms of Lights

We were lucky to be invited to the Blossoms of Lights event at the Denver Botanic Gardens.  We can’t wait to share with you some of the highlights of our tour!

As always, you can click on any of the photos for a larger view.

At the beginning of the tour we walked into a 200 foot tunnel of lights

with a changing display

of pure magic.

The tunnel introduced us gradually to the wonders we will find once we emerge from the tunnel.

The displays were breathtaking

and there was something new and magical around every corner.

The labour that went into constructing and orchestrating all of these LED light bulbs into a cohesive display was seemed like an impossible feat.

These colourful orbs

floated on freshly fallen snow.

The snow made the whole display more so much more special

with an added sprinkle and glow.  May we add that it was the only bit of snow during our stay.  It almost felt like special order snow.

The large-scale light-and-sound show was impressive,

but these orbs simply took our breath away,

floating on a frozen pond,

reflecting on the shimmering ice,

and changing colour from beautiful

to gorgeous.

What an amazing display!

We hope to be back in Denver and visit the gardens when they are in full bloom.

That is so gorgeous! Our local Arboretum does a Drive-Through Winter Wonderland Light Display. We take the grandchildren and other family members through it nearly every year. It’s a Holiday Highlight for us.

I love the Blossoms of Light. They do such an amazing job. I haven’t been in several years. Thank you for sharing the pictures from this year.

Incredible! I have a brother who lives near Denver and would love to see this one day. Our son and his fiancee passed through the Denver airport today on their way to rendezvous with us in Portland. Happy holidays to you and Tony!

I have noticed that there are more and more light shows like this around Christmas, when it is cold. Wouldn’t it be better to organise them in summer, when it’s warm. Merry Christmas!

it wasn’t cold actually, but if it was you just dress accordingly and it’s fine. I think it gets dark too late in the summer for this to be effective, and the lack of summer snow takes away some of the magic 🙂 Having said that, there are probably light displays in places like Australia where it’s nice and warm now!

We would love to hear from you!
