The Big RV’eal

We took our time deciding whether the van was a ‘he’, ‘she’, or ‘it’.  We thought that a name would be nice and you needed to know the gender of the baby before you can name it, right?   We hesitantly tried a few names, but nothing really stuck and we just referred to it as”the van”.

We had a similar problem with our children.  Not figuring out their gender, but rahter coming up with a name for them.  They both had to wait about a month before they had a name and were referred to as ‘the baby’.  We got used to calling them the baby and they ended up with a name because it’s the law – you have to register your child with a name within a month, or else.

The is no van-naming law, but it took us about a month naming her as well.  Yes, it’s a she.  Not sure how we determined that, and no,  it definitely wasn’t by looking between the tires.

Maybe the name came first and since it’s a female name, the van is a she.  So here we are with a female, properly-named van.

So here we go.  Drum roll please!!!

World meet Buffy!

It was the most complimentary name that we could find for the Carado Banff, she is a buff colour, and she is certainly a strong, big-boned, buff, kind of a van.

The only lingering doubt is about her vampire slaying abilities.  Can she do it?  Unfortunately she started her training on a couple of raccoons (we are so sorry raccoons!).

Or were they raccoons?

We are sure that many adventures await us.  Vampires, or no vampires.

I named my Banff Sandy… after the color… and my love of Olivia Newton-John (Sandy in “Grease”). I picked her up on Olivia’s 70th birthday.

We would love to hear from you!
