The Coronavirus Diaries

We weren’t going to write about the pandemic, but we wanted to let you know that we are back in Ontario and staying put for a while. Hopefully you are also well and finding ways to navigate these fast-changing realities. We would love to hear from you so comment below to let us know how you’re doing. We sure live during interesting times!

A lot of plans are changing fast. One thing that did go well is that our daughter and son-in-law escaped the UK just in time and are safe with us. A visit from our niececancelled. A trip overseas for a family weddingcancelled. A trip to a dealer to rewire the vancancelled. A potential trip in Aprilmost likely cancelled.

We are anxious about our family membersespecially our daughter who lives in the U.S. At times like this you want your family together. We can only watch from afar and hope for the best.

The world is in crisis and Ontario has just declared a state of emergency. Borders are closing and people are panic-buying toilet paper.

So, naturally, Tony built a two piece bathroom in the basement.

I mean, we planned to do this for the past 20 years that we lived in this househe just needed an incentive… and no, this is not in response to the toilet paper crisis nor was it built to store any extra toilet paper.  He just needed something to do.

Once the bathroom is finished we may proceed to paint the main floor. We’ll resume sharing stories of our recent trip soon as we still have some interesting places lined up to tell you about!

In the meantime, we can all visit a few of the 500 museums and galleries that offer virtual tours.

Funny you should refer to toilet paper!😜I decided to stay home too. Then Trudeau announced on Monday that all Canadians should stay home. Hopefully we get quick results! Take good care!!!

Nice to hear you guys are at home, and with some family, Say hi to “D”

From my perspective; In a nutshell: Irrational and completely neurotic people (selfies) are shit scared, and the lack of governmental leadership fuels their panic buying. Toilet paper goes with BS!

Today I’m spending time upholstering, making cushions for our new wardroom area (lounge/dinette/bed/office). We want to launch the trailer by end of April. With USD our Lonnie is at $1.40; we’ll explore home first. So, being on the road, that’s enough social distance we will need. We’ll be boondocking . . . the National Parks are now closed.

We too are talking bathrooms, although ours is to go with the sauna, which I hope will be transformed into a bunkie by summer.

As for TP … two weeks ago it was on sale and Tom very wisely bought two enormous packages. Funny thing is I would never let him invest in paper stocks. The only ones I declared I needed were toilet paper ones. I figured if I had those on hand, I could always be a “happy camper.”

We are Quarantined in a retirement community about 1/2 mile from our daughter and three grandchildren. It might as well be Canada!

We would love to hear from you!
