Travel Photo Challenge Day 5 – The End

We were nominated by our friend John from Paol Soren to post one favorite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations.  We accepted because we like him, but we can’t stick to the rules.

First, we would like to explain that we understand that the idea behind this challenge is to expose bloggers to new audience (and audience to new bloggers). We were thrilled to hear that Pete and Jim are now reading Jenn’s blog.  This is really what this was about!

This will be the last post using this format, but we will acknowledge fellow bloggers at the end of our next “One Photo At a Time”.  We will have a group of interesting bloggers featured.

So we break the rules, but Can we make new ones?

New rule number 1: nominate as many Beths as you can.

So here are our nominated bloggers:

This Beth is also sometimes Thela.  Check out her own pilgrimage at Pilgrimage Studio,

Another lovely lady that’s been with us for a while is PeggyJoan and since Peggy is usually short for Elisabeth (only in my own delusional head…since it’s actually short for Margaret…what was I thinking…) she is technically another Beth.  You can find her at Peggy’s country Life as she tries to make every moment count.

And then there is LeggyPeggy, another technical Beth (not) who rides in cars with dogs at Where to Next?

I may have officially run out of Beths.

Ladies, please don’t feel obligated, but If you choose to participate please link to us so that your readers can come and visit here. If you want to post just 1 or 5 or none, that’s okay too; we just wanted to send people over to your site!

Did we just demonstrate that breaking the rules complicates things? It also seems easier to break the rules than to come up with new ones that are really good for everyone to follow…

We promised lots of rule breaking, so here we go:
  • 1: We will reveal the location of the previous post the day after we post it. So here we go: yesterday’s photos were of 2 lighthouses; the sunset one was taken at Carleton-sur-mer in Gaspésie’s, Quebec.  The second lighthouse was taken at Lion’s Head in Bruce Peninsula, a replica built by high school children that was unfortunately destroyed in a storm last year. We hope you enjoyed it as we swallow our dignity because we didn’t get a swarm of new followers…
  • 2: we posted 2 photos; back and front of the same sculpture
  • 3:  Jim was nominated by both Pete and us
  • 4: instead of one, we nominated two people
  • 5: we are not supposed to write anything other than the blurb that came with the nomination
  • 6: daily title changes
  • 7: we post two photos on the same subject from 2 different locations
  • 8: we will not post every day
  • 9: we decided to acknowledge bloggers in future posts instead of continuing with the challenge all the way to the end
  • 10: nominate a blogger that was already nominated
  • 11: sometimes I use a blue toothbrush while Tony uses a pink one!
  • 12: we tell you where the photo was taken in the current post.
  • And a partridge in a pear tree.

Oh wait, the travel photo!  The feature photo is from Quartzsite, Arizona and the one below is from a place called Indian Bread near Wilcox Arizona.  Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Margie. This has been a lot of fun for me. I know some people blog to try and sell something, but I can’t see that ever being me. I actually started blogging after I wrote my book when someone suggested that. When it comes right down to it, I’m a people person, and Covid has prevented me from being with my peeps.

Blogging for me is about the chance to meet some interesting people. I reached out to Peggy today (after first calling her Beth because I didn’t read your post carefully, haha). Anyway, thanks for breaking some rules and having fun with this. I know I did.

Thanks so much, Pete! I have to admit that I felt like an idiot when I was eating breakfast and it hit me: Peggy is Margaret…maybe they will consider changing their names 🙂 I would have taken it all the way to the end if we weren’t so busy unretiring. Good news is that we have our final inspections on Tuesday so we won’t have to cook a turkey on the engine while driving home. Back to your point, I agree about connecting with people. I didn’t realize what an eclectic group of bloggers I read and I would love to share more of them with you.

We would love to hear from you!
