ONE PHOTO AT A TIME – Stairway to Heaven

We spotted this little oddity on our way to the Paint Mines Interpretive Park near Colorado Springs.

Stairway to Heaven

There was also a strange arrangement right next to it that looked like a landing site. Does anyone know what this all means?

I know it’s more than one photo, but it was necessary 🙂

Stay tuned for our visit to the amazing Paint Mines!

Interesting travelling by some of these areas to see what fun the local folks have. We used to drive between Edmonton and Spruce Grove and there were three old stoves in the field with signs, The Lone RANGE-er, Home on the RANGE (had a tiny house on it) and Free RANGE. I was sad to see them go. Happy travels and good luck figuring out the riddle/pun. Allan

If it had three upright poles it might have been a tent structure of sun protection with a blanket thrown over it. The three stakes could be driven into the ground. There must have been a house there at one time that burned or fell to ruin and was removed, leaving only the steps. Am I being entirely too logical? No fun…..

Haha, yeah, there must have been a house at one point and only the stairs were left behind. And, yes, someone with a sense of humour went into the trouble of getting these signs made up especially for those driving by. But why? And those three things on the ground may have been driven into the ground, but the location doesn’t lend itself to anyone lounging in a makeshift tent. It may remain a mystery 🙂

We would love to hear from you!
