In the past couple of weeks we’ve been taking Penny for a daily walk in the neighbourhood. There is lots to see here and we will write more about that later. In the meantime, here are some, signs, murals, and creative cultural expressions encountered on our walks.
There are plenty of lawn signs
with many variation on a theme
Some are more environmental
Most are empowering,
and inclusive. We loved this one.
Almost every street has one of those adorable Little Free Libraries.
Each one is a little different, and most are packed with books.
Some are decorated for Christmas
Love the door knob on this one!
But what about little libraries for art?
We found these little treasures inside. How adorable!
Or dog libraries?
And here is some poop poetry for good measure.
The trees get signs as well.
We came across a few murals too.
On walls,
fences,
garages.
and alley ways.
Sometimes entire houses are adorned all around.
Even retaining walls get some decorating for prosperity.
and according to this sign, the chicken in this supermarket is completely legal!
What a wholesome post!
Thank you! Glad you like it!
That is all so cool. My favourites are the library. Did Penny pick a stick?
It is cool, and no, Penny chose to pass on the sticks for the sake of a passing by bunny 🙂

These signs are very different. Maybe even the opposite 🙂
I love the inclusive, empowered and loving messages here…we live in a world with far too much hatred right now…
Me too! It makes you feel good walking down a street where people make a point of letting you know that they care!
I really enjoyed this entire post! Re-using the little libraires theme with art and doggie sticks and toys – how creatively adorable. 😊
Thank you so much, Rose! I really loved finding them in the neighbourhood!
Love the dog’s library…and many others 🙂
I loved those too! Thanks for coming along.
Looks like they have the right idea and a good sense of community. So nice to see. Thanks for sharing. Allan
You are right! The sense of community does come through!
There appears to be a lot of free spirits in Denver with very positive attitudes. Nice post.
There really are. We ran into a few of them on our walks and it was lovely and refreshing!
Quite few nice signs, very inspirational!
Thank you for coming along!
My neighbor also has that first sign you posted on their lawn: especially during these times of political tension and descent, having people in your area on-board with similar beliefs is comforting. Denver is surely a sign heaven!
It is! And yes, I love that people flaunt kindness in face of bigotry and hate.
Great post! I love the poo poem and dog library; very clever!
Thank you! It’s great when people can just have fun. I loved those too!
Very interesting array of things we do here in the U.S. The small libraries and food pantries are very nice additions.
They really are!
I love the idea of those outside libraries. How cute that some people even decorate them for the holidays! Did Penny participate in the puppy pantry?
They are adorable! Penny was not interested in the sticks since there were a few bunnies (or live sticks as she would refer to them) in the area 🙂
What a fun neighborhood!
It is! We are really enjoying our afternoon walks in the neighbourhood!
such a wide variety of observations – it’s amazing what we can see when we take the time to do so…
They were hard to miss, Jim. But you are right, we sometimes pass these things without really seeing them.
Love the neighbourhood. Love your photos. Neat! Happy Holidays. Muriel
Thanks, Muriel! Happy Holidays to you too!
I love all these signs, so much fun.
Love the art and dog libraries, how fun! The opening sign with Leia is great.
They were all fun to find during our walks. I kind of want to have the Leia sign on my front lawn!
