This episode of the Chronicles of Sarnia will feature Rocky the Snake. But before we get to Rocky, here is an update on the baby front. Baby is not here yet, but getting very close. We started a baby pool. Not the one you swim in, but rather the one you bet on. Bets are anywhere from June 29 to July 4th and the winner gets the baby.
In the meantime she is enjoying the convenient built-in table.
Back to Rocky. Rock snakes are taking over the world and we have one growing in Sarnia. If you venture to the park under the bridge you will find Rocky.
Started by an anonymous person it captured the imagination of our city and new rocks are added daily.
We visited last week.
Today when we came to add our rock to the end of the snake, we found it grew.
A lot.
Here are some of our favorites.
Good advice.
These M&Ms cracked us up.
Peas definitely deserve a chance.
Also good advice.
Cute.
And there were so many more
Stringing and curving along
Each one unique. Some carry important messages.
Someone even added a little campervan. It wasn’t us.
We’ll keep an eye on the progress on both fronts and let you know how it goes.
It would be an honor to include something to the rock snake. Have you and Tony contributed anything?
Much luck to mama with the delivery of her child. Getting close now. I’ll wait to see the tray table on Shark Tank.????
I can add one for you too, and yes, we did add one to the end of the snake. I will pass your well wishes on and mention your brilliant idea 🙂
Best wishes for your baby and family! I looove the snake! It makes me laugh and smile, thanks! Sarnia is a nice town. ❤️????????
Thank you, John. Glad it made you smile and Sarnia is a nice town!
You’re welcome! ☺️
Love that snake. Such a fun idea. Looking forward to future news on both the snake and the baby.
It is fun and it’s making people happy. I just love it!
Good luck and best wishes. Baby will come when baby is ready. Is baby ready yet? The snake is a fun idea. I wonder how long it will get?
Baby is getting ready! I will keep track of the snake, but this one is hard to measure because it chose to be curvy.
I would not quarrel
With a coral snake called Coral
Because its bite could kill me….
But if one should attack
I’d not lack for rocks to fight back
If I had a rock snake named Rocky.
😀
Mr. Muse this is perfect. There are no poisonous snakes here, so Rocky will stay intact for now.
I love this. I am building a snake in the lot below my house as well. So long I think it is about 15 meters long. I’ll post a photo. Not as colorful as this one is, howeve. At least not yet!!!
Wow, that is very long! I’d love to see a photo of it!
I almost didn’t continue when you said snake, but this is the only kind that I would say is pretty! Congrats on the grand baby!!
Thank you! Not a snake fan? Glad you can at least enjoy this king of snake 🙂
Such a great idea. Is there one that says “ visualize whirled peas”? ????
Haha, I haven’t seen one, but I think I might want to add one myself 🙂
Those rocks are so cute and super creative. I love them!
And good luck to your daughter. It is any day now. I put my bet on July 1, Canada Day. Enjoy the new baby!
I love creative, happy initiatives like this. My daughter also bet on July 1st, which happens to be the due date. If you are correct you may have to have shared custody of the baby as double winners 🙂
I change my bet to September 4 then. ???????? Good luck this week!
????
I’ve not come across rock snakes before but these look fun!
They seem to be popping up across the continent. Very fun encounters.
I absolutely love the snake and how the community has contributed! Can’t wait to hear about the baby!!
There will be an update very soon!
That is the cutest snake ever! and Congrats on the future bundle! Looking forward to updates. ????
It is very cute and growing. We will certainly post updates!
The snake is a fun community project that shows there are many artists out there.
Yes. It’s cool how through this rock display you can see talent, humour, compassion, care, and love!
How exciting that the baby is almost here! I’ve never heard about these Rock snakes before, but I’m intrigued. There are some creative and crafty people in Sarnia! Why am I not surprised that you’ve returned to check on how much it’s grown!? Love it!
They seem to be popping up in communities all over the country. Such a fun project. We returned to add our own rock and will be back to check on the progress again. It’s one of our usual exploration spots anyway 🙂
Gosh I love this. We had a rocky snake here in a couple of parks in Niagara. They lasted for a couple of years during the pandemic, but then one day when we visited they had disappeared. It was a joy to see all the painted rocks at that time. These are fabulously creative and fun. Thanks for sharing the joy Margie! ????
I hope that this snake sticks around for a bit. It makes people so happy to look at the art and beautiful messages.
I hope the baby arrives safely and mother does well. I enjoyed Rocky the Snake. What a fun idea someone had!
He literally just arrived and all is well.
Congratulations!????????????????
Thank you!
I am looking forward to details! I am sure he’s a cutie!
Will do!
Cool idea!
It is!
