Storage Wars – Minimalism Verses Capacity

Reflections on space management in a small Class B campervan,

An Accidental Ghost Town Encounter

Sisco is not your typical western ghost town from the 1800.  Although it started in the 1880 as a saloon and water-filling  stop for the railway, it remained occupied to some extent well into the 20th century although in decline.  The construction of Route 70, bypassing it, sealed its fate.

Leak in campervan water system

We Sprung a Leak!

So we sprung a leak!  The leak was probably there from the beginning and got progressively worse over time as we drove the van.  We mentioned in previous posts the pump kicks in when every few minutes,  and then, the discovery of the ominous puddle under the van during our last trip. Well, there is … Continue reading We Sprung a Leak!

Fun With Cushions

Oh, those bench cushions!  They always come undone when driving.  You have to move them aside when you open the under-bench compartment.  If you are not setting up the king size bed, you have to find a spot for the side cushions at night.  They just always seem to be in the way. Around the Lake

The following Friday rolls around and we are on our way across the border to New York State.  A cousins' reunion near Albany is the perfect excuse to get on the road and squeeze in a mini-adventure.  We want to use the campervan as much as we can before taking it on a longer trip … Continue reading Around the Lake

First Trip – Prince Edward County

We just couldn’t wait and went on our first campervan trip the very next day. All packed, water tank filled, dog restraining system improvised by using her harness and my captain seat, and off we go.  Tony is taking the van slowly out of the driveway, trying to get the feel of driving the van … Continue reading First Trip – Prince Edward County

Bringing Our New Baby Home

We did it!  After months of deliberating, researching, contemplating (and a bit of arguing), we narrowed down our choice of a campervan to the Carado Banff.  A couple of delays in delivery, but here we are, driving our brand new campervan home.  Actually Tony is driving and I am following behind in my car.  He … Continue reading Bringing Our New Baby Home

The Prequel – How We Got Here

Two recent road trips across Canada and the USA led us to the decision to buy a campervan. We have always loved travelling; we backpacked through Europe and Asia in the 1980, and went on many trips with our daughters.  Now that we are empty-nesters, our idea of fun is to travel as much as … Continue reading The Prequel – How We Got Here
