The Coronavirus Diaries – Best Laid Plans

In our last post we mentioned that we haven’t been hiking in the forest lately.  We thought we should start doing that again.  We also planned to have some fun and enjoy a bonfire one evening.

Well, it looks like the forest is now closed to all human traffic.

Then there was a notification from the fire department banning all fires.  This includes contained fires in portable fire pits so there goes that wonderful plan

The government reminded us several times via our phones that we need to stay home.

So we decided that we should dig into our extensive puzzle stash only to be smacked on the head with the horrific realization that we had donated most of our puzzles in one of our decluttering frenzies.

Well, how do you like minimalism now, eh?

Luckily, we did find three puzzles that survived the cull: a very difficult wooden puzzle, a very difficult butterfly-shaped puzzle, and a very difficult 3-D puzzle.  Those should keep us busy for a while.

The wooden puzzle had a missing piece so Tony made one.  Of course he did.

What can I say, the man is talented!

So since we can’t do much of any of the above except for a few puzzles, we decided to focus on things that we can control.

We also decided to focus on the positive wherever we can find it.

So today we got up and got dressed with actual clothes. I sat down to write this post even though I didn’t know what I will write about and the words found me easily.

Tony, well Tony building more tables.

There is a lot of positive going on in the world alongside the sadness and horror.  Many people are spreading cheer, many companies are doing all they can to help others.

We can chose these to be our guiding light.

The other day, we had an especially joyous moment when we went to the barn.  There was a very large bottle of hand sanitizer on one of the shelves – a relic of the times we still had horses here.

Score!  this should last a long long time!

Little did we know when this all started, how our lives would change. But, accentuating the positive was definitely the way to go. Good job on making the puzzle piece. I got some puzzles made out of my photos as Christmas gifts and got a copy for us. Amazing how competitive we got when this was the only excitement in our lives. Stay well. Allan

We would love to hear from you!
