We were nominated by our friend John from Paol Soren to post one favorite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. We accepted because we like him, but we may not make it to the end of … Continue reading Travel Photo Challenge Day 2 – changing the rules as I go

Travel Photo Challenge Day 1
I was nominated by my friend John from Paol Soren to post one favorite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. I accept because I like him, but I may not make it to the end of ten … Continue reading Travel Photo Challenge Day 1
[ONE PHOTO AT A TIME] Tenacity
This vivid and stubborn plant broke ground in an arid, semi-desert part of Israel. The Jerusalem Autumn Crocus (Colchicum hierosolymitanum), now rare and protected, was once common around Jerusalem. It seems like an impossible and futile effort, yet here it is vibrant and very much alive.
[ONE PHOTO AT A TIME] Freedom
This picture features the still-free hostages back in the UK before their return to Canada. After we visited the Rollright Stones we wandered into a nearby forest where we found these wonderful twig creations scattered throughout. Just look at the hostages frolicking in this magical forest; a place where someone was free to be creative. … Continue reading [ONE PHOTO AT A TIME] Freedom
[ONE PHOTO AT A TIME] Earthship
You can find earthships in most countries, but just outside of Taos there is an abundance of these unique structures. This photo is one of our favourites is because to us, it represents a coalescence of … Continue reading [ONE PHOTO AT A TIME] Earthship
[ONE PHOTO AT A TIME] Hope
We enjoyed discovering these blessing stones throughout the forest during the darkest Coronavirus days. It seems fitting today to share a message of hope for a better, kinder world.

A relaxing, but interesting walk due to the abundance of curious characters one can find on a California beach. A few minutes later everything calmed down again because someone started feeding … Continue reading [ONE PHOTO AT A TIME] Comfort in Chaos
[ONE PHOTO AT A TIME] Photos Have Souls Too
There is a lot that is wrong with this photo. I tried to edit it, but whenever I made a correction it lost its soul. I left it alone. Sometimes the flaws are what makes it work and you just need to let it be.
A Window Well
We love it when we come up with a new way to repurpose a space in the van! You may remember that we carry our fresh drinking water on board and save the water in the tanks for showering, flushing, dishwashing, etc. This expands our water capacity significantly. It's all good except water take up … Continue reading A Window Well
Ripple Rock
We would have missed Ripple Rock if we didn't know about it beforehand. Cars zip along Highway 17 East not realizing that right by the side of the road there is an exposed ancient sea bed. If you are in the Lake Huron's North Shores area, go west from Bruce Mines until you just pass … Continue reading Ripple Rock
